Finmine Update - March 6th 2012

Minecraft 1.2

Welcome to Minecraft version 1.2. With this update of Minecraft, the team over at Mojang have brought us some pretty cool new things such as:

- New Jungle Biome
- Added Ocelots (Cats!)
- Added Iron Golems
- New AI For Mobs (Means that they're smarter now, or they act differently)
- Tame Wolves Can Have Puppies (Naww, so cute! :P)
- Villagers Now Have Children
- Rare Item Drop For Mobs
- New Items And Blocks
- Height Limit Increased To 255 (They lowered it from 256 because of bugs)
- Apparent Removal Of Herobrine (*cough*)

For your information, this is what ocelot really looks like in real life. (Yeah cats... ;)

Finmine Donations
Until now it has been but a rumor! A myth, a legend! However, it has now come true! Finmine is now accepting player donations! This doesn't mean that we're going to start asking you every five seconds to donate to the server, all it really means is that you, the player, now have the opportunity to become more than what you are. Donating to the server reaps it's rewards, what with different donation values leading to different rewards. If you would like to donate to the server, you can do either of the two options;

Finmine Update - January 18th 2012

Minecraft 1.1

Welcome to Finmine version 1.1. As the update to Minecraft has only very recently been released, it will, for the time being, be slightly buggy. However, this does not mean that the server will be in any way disadvantaged, as a majority of problems wont effect most players. Looking into the new aspects of the game, Mojang have brought in some cool new features such as;

• Bow Enchantments
• Language Translations
• Sheep Regain Wool
• New World Types
• Golden Apple Recipe

And many more features as well as bug fixes.

Finmine's 1st Birthday

On the 29th of January, 2012, the community of Finmine will officially turn 1! It seems not to long ago that two of Finmine's greatest, BroidiX and nwing, came together and created what we know today as Finmine. In celebration of the event, a short video was put together by Finmine's YouTube Operator, TAYLOR2O. The video could not have been made without the help of the community, uploading photos of all the great moments we've had over the past year.

Auction plugin - January 5th 2012

Web Auction - Auction your Minecraft items easily in your browser!

We have added a new plugin which allows players to sell and buy items easily from web. Here is little guide how to get started;

1. Set password in server with typing in chat /wa password [password]

!!! DO NOT USE YOUR MINECRAFT PASSWORD !!!

2. Visit the bank just outside the Spawn tree in our server - Deposit some money and items.

3. Login to Finmine.com/Auction with your Minecraft username and password you just created.

4. Start auctioning!

5. Profit!

Minecraft 1.0 is out!

Finally the Minecraft has come to the point where it became a full game instead of pre-release beta stuff... Hurray for Minecraft 1.0!

Many of you have been asking when is the real server gonna be up but the answer is that we don't know for sure... We are still running on temp map waiting for Bukkit team to finish their Bukkit project and bring us recommended build. Also people has been asking is the old map coming back after the update - unfortunately the answer is no. There are couple of reasons why we have decided to go straight to new map instead of bringing back the old one...

1. The old map has been cracking pretty badly (big holes where there's no bedrock at bottom layer of the map) and other weird things all over the map..
   
2. It's not 1.8 generated (new biomes, lands etc.)
3. Griefed places (looks ugly)
4. Lots of buildings,houses,structures abandoned all over the map
5. It's too large.
6. Easier for us (admins,mods) to keep track of things what's happening there.

Also we will be bringing back old stats and ranks so you can continue where we left you! After the time has passed and the things have settled we might bring some buildings from old map back to new one but I can't guarantee we will do this!

I have one little surprise for you all fellow Finminers!

We have an competition going on temp server at the very moment where you build your house, building, structure what ever you like and we will be chosen 3 best buildings which will be moved to new maps when it comes to that point! So prepare your pickaxes and start gathering materials, good luck to you all!

It's quiet out there...

Hello all Finminers!

Many of you have noticed that server has been in vanilla mode quite long time and you might think that Finmine is gone forever...

That's not true! We, operators/admins, are still here waiting the final, REAL (not pre-releases), update (1.9) for Minecraft to come which is scheduled to be released 11/11 @MineCon...

What is this?

TEMPORARY SERVER AGAIN!

Hi!

For next few days mc.finmine.com is a TEMPORARY server!

This is because it takes time to get all our server modifications updated to version 1.6.6

Your stuff and buildings on redstone/craft/sandbox worlds WILL BE RESTORED when the update is done. This might take several days. Meanwhile enjoy playing on vanilla 1.6.6 temp server. All temporary server stuff (items and buildings) WILL BE LOST when the update is complete.

There is no land or chest protections on the temp server. There is also no roles, but try behave.. admins/ops still have means to ban major griefers or spammers and may do so at their discretion.
